Calendula Officinalis (pot marigold) is one of nature’s oldest wound healing herbs known. The flower petals of the Calendula plant are used for medicinal purposes and have since at least the 12th Century. Calendula has high amounts of flavonoids, plant-based antioxidants that protect cells from being damaged by free radicals. Calendula appears to fight inflammation, viruses, and bacteria.

Calendula contains antimicrobial and skin repairing compounds. It helps wounds heal faster by increasing blood flow and oxygen to the affected area, helping the body to grow new tissue.
